Born Christopher Williams in Kingston, Jamaica – Damas is moniker as a co-pioneer of the reggae revival movement that emerged in the wake of the influence of Chronixx, Protoje & Kabaka Pyramid.
Damas has been making a name for himself on the dancehall reggae scene since 2010.
A series of successful singles, including “Rasta Universal Love”, “Blood Shedding” and “My Life”, brought him worldwide acclaim.
Damas uses a strong political language with a religious overtone in his music, even though he often brings a comedic or controversial element to his lyrics.
This type of contextualization , social commentary and wordplay is known in the reggae music world as “Reality Music”
